Chinchillas
Bea and Baby
*female chinchillas (Bea is mom and her baby, Baby). *standard gray *About one 1/2-2 years old as of July 2024 for Bea, and Baby was born 10/6/24 -Bea came to us with five other chinchillas that had been owner surrendered to another shelter. She was kept separate and listed as a single male but she is a girl and she ended up being pregnant and had a baby in October. She’s timid at first and takes a little bit of time to get used to you but she is very sweet. She is fine with being petted but not a huge fan of being picked up. Baby is a typical crazy baby that loves to in around and explore and doesn’t have patience for humans but that will come in time! Chinchillas can live 20 years with proper care! We do not recommend chinchillas for children as they do not make good pets for children under 12. They require a specialized habitat with multiple levels, specific food, and regular grooming care. Interested adopters can fill out our adoption application here: https://www.judgespark.org/adoption-application.html. Adoption fee is $50 for a single chin, $100 for a pair.
Sherlock: medical hold
*male chinchilla *dark gray *About 8 years old as of October 2024 -Sherlock was initially surrendered to a shelter down in VA. When the rescue we work with down south pulled him, he was in a tiny cage with a bowl full of dried fruit and no hay. He was seriously emaciated with overgrown teeth, and completely matted. They got him healthy, got his teeth fixed under sedation, and his coat back in order and transported him up to us to find a family! Sherlock is such a sweet boy. He enjoys petting and LOVES chin scratches. He’s very outgoing and runs right up to you for pets and treats (which he loves). He is a happy and healthy boy and just wants to find a real home that will spoil him! He’d be fine bonded to another non aggressive male.
Niblet
*male chinchilla *dark gray *DOB October 6, 2024 -Niblet was born from a female we had here on pregnancy watch, from a group we took from the local humane society. He was finally old enough to wean from his mom and he is ready to find a forever family! Niblet is a typical little stinker baby lol. He is still getting used to being handled and will sometimes nip when he’s annoyed. We think with more handling he will definitely get used to interacting with humans more. He’d do best in an adult only home. He’d be fine bonded to another non aggressive male.
Moe and Thorne
*pair of male chinchillas *both are gray * Moe has a straight tail and Thorne has a curly tail. -These boys came in as a transfer from another shelter since they had been there for a while. Before that they were part of a humane case and in terrible shape when they were first picked up. They’re happy and healthy little guys now! These boys are sweet, but initially they’re gonna be nervous around new people. Both of them allowed me to pick them up and look them over with no problem and were very curious about their new environment! They are sweet boys we know will thrive in a good environment. They are a bonded pair and we will not separate them.

Birds
Enzo and Calvin
Enzo and Calvin are approximately 3 year old male parakeets. They came in from an owner surrender. They still need some socialization but very friendly. The foster has been taking them out and handling them regularly and the yellow guy had to have a beak trim on arrival. He will benefit from some toys that will keep his beak pared down. They are a bonded set.
Parakeets are very friendly and active birds. They are social creatures and usually do best in pairs or with intense bonding and socialization with a human. Hand taming requires routine and patience. The easiest way to start the process is by setting a schedule of exposure to you and your voice so they begin to trust you before starting the exposure of your hand! We do recommend someone who is willing to research, and/or experienced in hand taming.
Interested adopters can fill out our adoption application here: https://www.judgespark.org/adoption-application.html. Must have their own, suitable cage for the birds (we will need to see a picture). Adoption fee is $50 for a pair.
