Chinchillas

Timon

Picture
**I have been waiting for a forever home since November of 2025**

*male chinchilla

*standard gray
*born in early 2021
-Timon was surrendered to us along with his brother Pumba. On arrival we were told that he had been attacking his brother so we separated them. Unfortunately we realized very quickly that these boys had not been cared for properly for a long time. Their coats were dirty and matted and the first time they saw a dust bath and good food they were out of their minds excited! They are both very sweet boys and enjoy attention and treats. They are not fans of being picked up but will tolerate it. They are being adopted out separately and could potentially go to a home where they would be introduced to another male (but males can be hard to bond to each other). Timon has an issue where he drools. He's been to the vet and no issues were found that would cause it. He's eats great and does great, his mouth is just wet and he needs at least two dust baths a week and some extra grooming. He's still a very happy boy! Chinchillas can live 20 years with proper care! We do not recommend chinchillas for children as they do not make good pets for children under 12. They require a specialized habitat with multiple levels, specific food, and regular grooming care. Interested adopters can fill out our adoption application here: https://www.judgespark.org/adoption-application.html. Adoption fee is $50 for a single chin, $100 for a pair.

Phoebe

Picture
*female chinchilla
*standard gray
*5 years old as of May 2026
-Poor Phoebe. This girl was surrendered to us by her owner. Reasons given were “child going to summer camp then college, and then moving.” Not sure what the excuse was but either way she didn’t come from a good place. Phoebe is covered in mats on her backside. I believe more than likely due to previously getting her wet, not having enough dust baths, and not grooming her properly. I am listing her for adoption and we will be working on her mats but it will be some time to get her coat back to good working order, so if she gets a home, they will need to continue to work on it. They said she “bites” but she’s actually very sweet and only gave me some guff when she was getting tired of me messing with her hair and skin (which is understandable because the mats probably pull). She’s a really good little girl who deserves the best forever home for the rest of her life! Chinchillas can live 20 years with proper care! We do not recommend chinchillas for children as they do not make good pets for children under 12. They require a specialized habitat with multiple levels, specific food, and regular grooming care.
